Our Flavor
Where Caribbean Marinades Meet American Smoke
Ask anyone who has eaten at one of our events what makes S-DOT Smoke different, and you'll hear the same thing: the flavor. That flavor comes from two traditions coming together.
Roots in Haiti and Jamaica
Our founder, Shawn Vincent, is half Haitian and half Jamaican. He grew up on bold, deeply seasoned food, and he brings that heritage to every cook. Before anything hits the smoker, it spends time in a Caribbean marinade that builds strong, spicy flavor all the way through.
Low, slow and smoky
Then comes the American BBQ side: patience and smoke. Shawn has been smoking meats for more than 10 years and cooks on several different smokers, each adding its own character. The smoke brings out the tenderness, and the marinade brings the heat.
The result
Chicken wings with a kick, pork chops that are juicy to the bone, and whole red snapper that tastes like the islands. It's our tagline on a plate: Caribbean flavors meet the tenderness of American smoked meats.
Planning Tips
How to Plan BBQ Catering for Your Next Party
Great food makes a great party, and a little planning up front makes the day stress-free. Here's what to have ready when you reach out for a catering quote.
Your date and location. We cater across NJ, NY, CT, DE and PA, so let us know where the party is.
An approximate guest count. It doesn't need to be exact yet, but it helps us plan quantities.
A balanced menu. Mix a couple of smoked meats with a fish option and two or three sides so every guest finds something they love.
Dietary needs. Tell us about allergies or preferences early so we can plan around them.
Book early. Weekends in summer and around the holidays fill up quickly.
